Grand Western Canal Country Park, Tiverton, Devon
Eleven and a quarter miles of canal meandering through spectacular countryside
With 16 grade II listed bridges (many designed by John Rennie), 2 grade II listed limekiln complexes (one at either end of the canal), an aqueduct and 9 surviving milestones, the Grand Western Canal has a carefully preserved rich historic inheritance. In recent years the Canal Ranger service and volunteer groups have made great progress in restoring historic structures at the northern end of the canal.
