With 16 grade II listed bridges (many designed by John Rennie), 2 grade II listed limekiln complexes (one at either end of the canal), an aqueduct and 9 surviving milestones, the Grand Western Canal has a carefully preserved rich historic inheritance. In recent years the Canal Ranger service and volunteer groups have made great progress in restoring historic structures at the northern end of the canal.
Lundy is a small island lying 18km north of Hartland Point on the North Devon coast. The Lundy No Take Zone (NTZ) was set up in 2003 to enhance the conservation of marine habitats and species.
